Denise Morrison abruptly stepped down May 18 and the company named board member Keith McLoughlin the former head of appliance maker Electrolux AB as interim chief executive No specific reason was given for Morrisons departure In a statement released by the company Morrison said I am proud of Campbells accomplishments and how we have transformed our portfolio amid changing consumer tastes for with analysts to discuss the transition and the companys third quarter financial results Campbell will conduct a strategic review of its brands and provide an update on its plans this summer is also coping with high supply chain costs In reporting its quarterly earnings Campbell said gross margins declined 68 in part due to double digit increases in steel and aluminum costs Tariffs on the raw materials were proposed earlier this year but have yet to be implemented A lot of that or all of it was driven by the impact of anticipated tariffs Campbells chief financial officer Anthony DiSilvestro told analysts Like a lot of CPG Campbell has difficulty passing on the full increase in raw materials costs to consumers Consumer prices rose 21 in April from a year ago while suppliers
